APS Stocks Wide Range of Desiccant Dryers

Air Powered Services is widely regarded as the national leader in hire, sale, and service of desiccant dryers. Desiccant dryers are an integral part of many industries where dry air is required for manufacturing, production, and maintenance operations.

The APS range of desiccant dryers is extensive and is constantly being expanded with new sizes and models.

What is a desiccant dryer?

Desiccant dryers, also referred to as regenerative dryers and twin tower dryers; are used in industries where compressed air needs to contain no moisture.

The way these dryers work is that compressed air is flowed into one of the pressure vessel’s that is filled with a desiccant material (traditionally activated alumina) that absorbs moisture from the compressed air, whilst the other tower is being regenerated. The desiccant dryer brings the pressure dew point of the compressed air to a level where the water will no longer condense, or to remove as the water from the compressed air.

A standard dew point that is expected by a desiccant dryer is −40 °C, but it is capable to achieve a dewpoint of −70 °C when packaged with a quality compressed air source available from Air Powered Services.

Applications

Our desiccant dryers are ideal for any industrial setting, including:

  • Oil refinery construction, operation and maintenance shutdowns
  • Gas plant construction, operation maintenance shutdowns
  • Hospitals
  • Glass manufacturing
  • Food processing and preparation (including dairy farms)
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Smaller jobs such as factories and spray painting
  • Any process where moisture cannot be present

Sizes

The range of sizes we have available are:

  • 40 CFM
  • 100 CFM
  • 180 CFM
  • 250 CFM
  • 500 CFM
  • 600 CFM
  • 1000 CFM
  • 1600 CFM
  • 2000 CFM

Transport

The smaller sizes (up to 600 CFM, approx. 100-200kgs) can be loaded on and off a ute or pickup truck using a forklift, whereas sizes from 600 CFM upwards will need a truck for transport, with the larger sizes requiring a s 6-pallet truck or larger.

Power

Our desiccant dryers up to 500 CFM are powered by 240V power supply, while larger sizes are completely air operated and do not require an additional power source. We can advise on the best size and the supply requirements depending on your needs.

Servicing

As well as supplying desiccant dryers, Air Powered Services also provides servicing on these units. Over time, the desiccant material inside the dryer deteriorates and needs to be replaced. This can take anything from 12 months to 10 years, depending on the quality of the compressor being used and the application. We can assist with all aspects of servicing the desiccant dryer, whether they have been supplied by us or are an existing dryer at your site.

Hire

We hire desiccant dryers in all of the above sizes right across Australia. We’d be happy to advise you on the ideal size and specifications based on your requirements. Simply get in touch with our team and tell us what the dryer will be used for and any additional information such as air pressure required, the volume of air that will pass through the dryer and power options available at your facility.

We’ll provide a quote on hire and discuss options for delivery (Australia-wide) as well as servicing.
