Pressure Vessel Standards & Requirements

Are You Working Safely?

Did you know that your pressure vessel needs be externally inspected every 2 years and internally every 4 years?

Air Powered Services can assist you in maintaining safe working practices with Air Receivers in your workplace.

An Air Receiver is a type of pressure vessel which stores compressed air for large demands in excess of compressor capacity. These pressure vessels are potentially very dangerous and can fail catastrophically causing fatalities, serious injuries and property damage.

All vessels require assessment and action under work safe legislation.

Air Receivers must be registered in Victoria according to the hazard level.

  • Air Receiver Plant Registration is required where an air receiver has a hazard level of A, B or C.
  • Air Receiver Design Registration is required where an air receiver has a hazard level of A, B, C or D.

Vessels are rated from A to E, with A being the most hazardous and E being the least. There are a number of factors that contribute to the hazard level, which can be obtained from our staff.
